We are seeking a results-driven and customer-focused professional to manage a portfolio of clients within an assigned market segment. The successful candidate will contribute to the Bank’s business growth through referrals, selling of Institutional Banking products, and cross-selling other Bank services to enhance customer value. This role involves proactive business acquisition, customer relationship management, and providing strategic business advice to clients.
The position holder will ensure effective account management, business growth, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and build account profitability within the assigned client portfolio.
- Assist customers in analyzing problems and provide appropriate financial solutions.
- Develop cost-effective, long-term asset and liability business to maximize bank profitability.
- Maintain regular relationship contact with clients to ensure satisfaction and understanding of NCBA services.
- Manage administrative tasks such as credit analysis and loan processing.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for credit facilities and make credit recommendations.
- Anticipate changing customer needs and initiate appropriate service measures.
- Collaborate with Retail Managers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations for institutional clients.
- Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities for other bank products and services.
- Ensure full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies.
- Conduct regular client and prospect visits to strengthen business relationships.
- Participate in the development of innovative banking products.
- Review credit appraisals, facility requests, and ensure timely approval.
- Monitor large transactions and report suspicious activities as per KYC/AML guidelines.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Execute marketing and sales initiatives in the assigned portfolio.
- Provide market intelligence and recommendations to enhance competitiveness.
- Track portfolio performance against targets and report results periodically.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (preferably in Banking, Finance, Marketing, or related field).
- Relevant professional qualification in banking, finance, or marketing is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in banking or financial institutions, with at least 4 years in sales or relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong credit analysis and portfolio management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability in business development and marketing.
- Broad knowledge of banking operations, products, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience handling institutional clients and cross-border operations preferred.
