Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the preferred provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa. As a healthcare social enterprise, CCBRT serves the community and the most vulnerable through specialized care and development programs.
Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities, CCBRT also provides extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) services, including obstetric fistula repairs. Since 2005, it has offered community and centre-based rehabilitation services through the House of Hope in Moshi, promoting inclusive development at all levels.
To strengthen our Occupational Therapy services, we are looking for a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Moshi.
The Occupational Therapist will provide quality rehabilitation services — including assessment, therapy, counselling, and education — to clients both in the clinic and the community. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy rehabilitation services to clients in both clinical and community settings.
- Provide counselling and education to patients and caregivers as per CCBRT standards.
- Oversee seating clinic services, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and safety.
- Participate in data collection, reporting, and partner liaison activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed Occupational Therapist registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Member of the Association of Occupational Therapists in Tanzania.
- Ability to operate electrotherapy machines.
- Additional training (added advantage):
- Cerebral Palsy Management (CP)
- Manual Therapy Certification
- Communication Skills for Working with Patients with Disabilities
- Sensory Integration Therapy
- Basic Wheelchair Knowledge
- Computer literacy and good presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (English and Swahili).
- Proactive, motivated, and passionate about community-based rehabilitation.
