Job Title: Driver – Part Time
Reports To: Operations Officer
Duty Station: Arusha (2 Positions Available)
TAHA is an apex private sector member-based organization mandated to develop and promote the horticultural value chain in Tanzania, covering flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and horticultural seeds.
The Association is seeking highly motivated and experienced Tanzanians to fill the position below.
Job Overview:
The Driver will provide reliable and safe driving services for the organization, ensuring proper maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness of assigned vehicles. The role will also support administrative and logistical functions, including staff transport, document delivery, and vehicle management, in line with TAHA’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the assigned vehicle is always clean, well-maintained, and ready for both short and long-distance travel.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report any mechanical faults or safety concerns promptly.
- Supervise and follow up on physical repairs and maintenance of office vehicles.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or damages to management immediately.
- Assist with annual vehicle inspections and ensure all legal requirements, such as insurance and licenses, are up to date.
- Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery or collection of mail, documents, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with traffic rules, safety, and organizational policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate records for official trips, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Provide input on vehicle spare parts procurement and assist in obtaining quotations.
- Perform minor mechanical checks and coordinate external vehicle repairs when necessary.
- Support administrative and logistical duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics (Grade I).
- Valid and verified Class C driving license.
- At least four (4) years of professional driving experience with a safe driving record.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with road safety regulations and best driving practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
