Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life, and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s coastal communities and has since expanded globally.
Across more than a dozen countries, we partner with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, and sustain community-based fisheries management and conservation. We connect partners in networks to advocate for reform and share tools and best practices that support fishing communities worldwide.
Our Partner Network team leads the scoping, selection, and relationship management of civil society and non-governmental organizations that partner with Blue Ventures. The team ensures that partnerships are meaningful and sustainable by providing funding and technical assistance that catalyse and strengthen community-based fisheries management and locally managed marine areas.
The team is responsible for identifying potential partners, assessing capacity and funding needs, and developing multi-year partnership agreements. We believe in the power of networks and movement building and focus on creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and collaborative advocacy that place communities at the centre of lasting solutions.
We are recruiting a Partnership Coordinator to support the strategic development and expansion of our Partner Network from our hub in Tanzania. This role plays a pivotal part in advancing our mission, expanding our impact, and strengthening relationships with organizations that work directly with coastal communities. The Partnership Coordinator contributes to partnership growth strategies, nurtures relationships, fosters collaboration, and ensures the success of joint initiatives.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of Partnerships East Africa. It is based in Tanzania and involves regular travel to work closely with partners, colleagues, and communities. The role requires flexibility, as travel may include remote areas and depend on weather and tides, as well as working across multiple time zones.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, proactive, and highly organized, with strong knowledge of rural community contexts, small-scale fisheries, and experience in community-based conservation and development in Tanzania. They should be open to innovation, skilled in relationship-building, and experienced in developing effective partnerships for conservation or development.
