With great pleasure, the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS) extends an invitation to eligible applicants for a variety of undergraduate programs offered for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Our university is located on the premises of the Bugando Medical Center in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The first round’s application window will be open from July 15, 2025, until August 5, 2025.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES OFFERED;
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (BSc. NED)
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc. N)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD)
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy (BSc. MIR)
CUHAS Entry Requirement
1. Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences – 3 Years
Direct Entry:
It is necessary to have three A-level primary passes with a minimum of six points in biology, chemistry, and physics, with at least a “C” in chemistry, a “D” in biology, and a “E” in physics.
Diploma/Equivalent Entry:
A medical laboratory sciences degree from a recognized institution with a “B” average or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
All formal correspondence should be sent to the Vice Chancellor of CUHAS.
A applicant also needs to have five O-Level passes with a minimum grade of “D” in English language, chemistry, biology, physics, and basic mathematics.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education – 4 Years
Diploma/Equivalent Entry:
A nursing diploma or advanced nursing education diploma must be granted by an authorized institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or an average of “B.”
A applicant also needs to have five O-Level passes with a minimum grade of “D” in English language, chemistry, biology, physics, and basic mathematics.
3. Bachelor of Pharmacy – 4 Years
- Direct Entry
Three minimum-six-point A-Level principal passes in biology, chemistry, and physics are necessary, with one subject requiring a minimum “D.”
- Diploma/Equivalent Entry
A accredited university must award a diploma in pharmaceutical sciences with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
A applicant also needs to have five O-Level passes with a minimum grade of “D” in English language, chemistry, biology, physics, and basic mathematics.
4. Doctor of Medicine – 5 Years
- Direct Entry
It is necessary to have three primary passes with at least six points in biology, chemistry, and physics, with at least a “D” in each subject.
- Diploma/ Equivalent Entry
A clinical medicine diploma from an accredited school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or an average of “B.”
Additionally, a candidate must have five O-Level passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Basic Mathematics, and English Language with a minimum grade of “D.”
5. Bachelor of Science in Nursing – 4 Years
- Direct Entry
Three primary passes in Chemistry, Biology, and either Physics, Advanced Mathematics, or Nutrition are required to receive at least six points at the A-Level. A minimum grade of “C” in Chemistry, “D” in Biology, and “E” in Physics, Advanced Mathematics, or Nutrition are required.
- Diploma/ Equivalent Entry.
A nursing diploma from an accredited school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or an average of “B.”
Additionally, a candidate must have five O-Level passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Basic Mathematics, and English Language with a minimum grade of “D.”
6. Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy – 4 Years
Direct Entry:
Three principal passes in physics, chemistry, and biology at the A-level with at least six points are required, with at least a “D” in chemistry, biology, and physics.
Diploma/Equivalent Entry:
A medical imaging/radiography diploma from an accredited school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or an average of “B.”
A applicant also needs to have five O-Level passes with a minimum grade of “D” in English language, chemistry, biology, physics, and basic mathematics.
