Applicants are directed to do their applications online for both Postgraduate Degrees, Undergraduate Degrees and Non- Degree programmes direct to the University through our website www.saut.ac.tz.

For additional information about the programs, including the prerequisites for admission to St. Augustine University of Tanzania, applicants for undergraduate degree programs are strongly encouraged to first check the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) Students Guidebook.

It is advised that candidates for undergraduate non-degree programs (certificates and diplomas) consult our website and additional educational materials, including pamphlets, to learn about the prerequisites for admission.

In the year of admission, applications are accepted from February to November for postgraduate programs, from August to October for bachelor’s degree programs, and from June to September for non-degree programs.

At least three months before the start of the courses in September or January, applications for the NBAA/NBMM or PSPTB Exam review courses must be submitted to the relevant departments.

All new students are required to attend the registration process, as outlined in the University/TCU Almanac and joining requirements. The new student orientation event will be held during the second week of registration.

International students are expected to fulfill all immigration formalities in their home countries prior to their trip to Tanzania. They also have to pick up a Residence Permit from the nearest Tanzanian Embassy or High Commission when they get there.

Entry Requirements for Admission

Minimum Requirements for Admission to Institutions of Higher Learning: The following SAUT minimal entry requirements have been set by TCU and NACTE for admission to HEIs:

  • For Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level coursework before to 2014, the minimum admittance criteria is two principal passes with a total score of 4.0 points;
  • For Form Six students who completed their A-Level coursework between 2014 and 2015, a minimum entry criteria of two principal passes (two Cs) with a total score of 4.0 points is required;
  • Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level coursework in 2016 must have two principal passes with a total score of 4.0 points in order to be admitted;

Registration Information

  • No student will be allowed to register or attend classes if the required payments are not paid. The required fees can be paid in full at the beginning of the school year or in four installments.
  • Students will not get their money back if they withdraw or leave the university after registering.
  • As long as the written request is submitted within the first two weeks of the semester or academic year, students who receive prior consent from the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to withdraw or miss class may be eligible to receive a reimbursement of fifty percent of their fees.
  • Within the given time, new students must register. To register, a prospective student must bring original copies of the documents they want to submit as credentials to back up their admissions application.
  • All degrees, diplomas, certificates, and other university honors shall be granted using the names that are listed on the certificate that a student gets upon admission. Unless they have been applied to all of the transcripts and/or testimonials used to gain admission to the university, name changes are not allowed in academic transcripts or testimonials.
